FREE Caricature Contest Winner

I had a free caricature contest a few weeks backs…. And he is the winner… Brandon. All you had to do is leave a comment leave a compelling comment (preferably funny) or a brief story why or someone think I should draw you or another person you would like to nominate. Maybe you’re in the dog house with your woman and you think a cartoon will melt there heart ? Maybe you need to cheer up some stupid kid in a hospital…who knows? All you have to do is LEAVE A COMMENT for a chance to win.

HERE IS BRANDON’s COMMENT:

After just bringing twins into the world with my wife, and upping the kid count in the house to 3 kids under the age of 1.5 years old, I had to take a 3rd shift job to make life work and pay the bills.

My wife stays home with 3 screaming, pants shitting, babies while I try not to fall asleep at a job that goes on while most people are sleeping

She misses me and a funny little caricature to look at will cheer her up while she toils away feeding these little monsters…alone….while im working

… + I got a pretty big penis for a white guy, so I should win something for that right? I promise ,in advance, that the caricature won will in no way highlight my penis in any way shape or form.

NOW a CARICATURE OF HIS SON!

JUICY FLYER DESIGNS by Juicy J [COMPUTER ARTS]

Was going through some of my old works, and  decided to air out some of my flyer designs. I try to approach flyers from an illustrator perspective, as the market seems to be flooded with the same old ‘glitter’ Photoshop manipulations., and at some point decide to only do flyers in my own style. For so long was just a designer monkey just replicating other people styles, which is tedious, boring, and doesn’t pay much . The downside of illustrating a FLYER is that that allot of time, but the upside of illustration in your own ‘style’ is you’re doing you, and you are not so easily replaceable and help establish your very own brand.

I don’t mind doing flyers for people and companies when they hire me for me. But I I’ve have gotten tired of being a technical artist of just replicating templates. It’s draining, but surprisingly allot of people want that. But If you’re interested in having some illustrated FLYERS DESIGNED with a different unique perspective from me then hit me up for more details. Joshua@Pixel-Pimp.com or CALL ME: 678.600.1141

JUST DESIGNED the WORLD’s BEST BUSINESS CARD!!

Ok! It’s not the BEST, but pretty close! :) Designing for yourself is somewhat a tedious task for artist. For the longest I’ve been meaning to design a new business card for myself… and just never got around to it. This concept was for another person that wasn’t somewhat rejected, so I decided to use it for myself, and make it HOT!! I’m going to print Monday, after some tweaking! I want it to be BOLD and EPIC, and this is what I came up with .I always like the concept of bad asses in the movies slowly walking away from explosions and tried to convey this! What do you think. I also take commissions for business cards. Email me at Joshua @pixel-pimp.com for more information!! Thanks – Joshua

Blame it on the Jäger [Illustration]

This is a personal commission, a cariacture of a girl who loves the Jägermeister. My instructions were ‘draw me with some Jägermeister!” And that’s basically how I approached this. I think it came out AWESOME, but It wasn’t easy.

First Attempt: FAIL

This is the first draft, that was a #FAIL! It was kinda corn-ballish, and  wasn’t feeling. so I started over…and stop looking a photo reference. Sometimes references can do you some dis-services. Live and Learn. :) I’m accepting commissions, email me for details at Joshua@pixel-pimp.com

Work in PROGRESS!!!!

Before Sunset [poster design]

This ONE of FOUR movie posters I’m designing, while trying out some new styles. I’m doing There Will Be Blood, Taxi Drive, Bad Boys, and this one is Before Sunset 2004 ( A Richard,  Linklater film: Scanner Darkly, Dazed and Confused) . I tried to experiment with a less cartoonish style than I’m accustomed to, and go for a more pastel and conservative look, given the nature of the subject matter

The Plot of Before Sunset (which is the sequel to Before Sunrise 1995): Jesse, a writer from the US, and Celine, a Frenchwoman working for an environment protection organization, acquainted nine years ago on the train from Budapest to Vienna, meet again when Jesse arrives in Paris for a reading of his new book. As they have only a few hours until his plane leaves, they stroll through Paris, talking about their experiences, views and whether they still love each other, although Jesse is already married with a kid.

The movie is a basically is one long conversation that would fall in the romantic comedy category, so I approached it as such. Here is the fruit of my labor. Thanks for watching. – Joshua Hooper

Legends never DIE [Mike Tyson]

Iron Mike Tyson, his name is infamous, he legacy is questionable,  but the fear that he strikes in the heart of men is undeniable. It’s a fair statement to say Mike Tyson is an animal,  he literally bite a man’s ear off. ( who does that?) I  wanted to draw Tyson for some time, now I have. Job’s done. Mission Accomplished… on to the next piece.

“Fear is your best friend or your worst enemy. It’s like fire. If you can control it, it can cook for you; it can heat your house. If you can’t control it, it will burn everything around you and destroy you. If you can control your fear, it makes you more alert, like a deer coming across the lawn.” -Mike Tyson

Oral Fatigue [T'Shirt Design]

This is a shirt design for my friend, Wells Montague. He is quite the sexual deviant and an advate runner. We wanted a shirt to represent two of his favorite things in life, running and being a pervert. Personally, I think those two hobbies together are reciept for a disaster, but he paying me $$$, so I best shut up and do what he tells me (make him a sandwich too). He’s also a smooth talker, hence the mouth piece. That’s about it. Oh, Feel free to FOLLOW ME ON TWITER, if you haven’t already, and LIKE my my Facebook Fan Page. You can also pay it forward by buying me a beer when you see my in the streets. Thanks. – Joshua Hooper

PS: Notice the Moose Knuckle…. It’s the male equivalent of the “camel toe!”
